Welcome to Term Two!

Kia Ora.

My name is Sean Koch and it is a pleasure to introduce myself as the new face in Room 10. I am looking forward to getting stuck into Term 2 and meeting you and your tamariki. A little about myself. I'm 35 and I was born in Auckland but grew up in Australia. I did my teacher training in Palmerston North and have recently moved back into the area after teaching in Porirua last year. I also have experience in teaching English overseas, being based in China for several years.

I come from a mixed background with my family roots originating from around the globe (English, Irish, German and Maori).  I love travel and was an enthusiastic geography and history student at school. I am also passionate about the promotion of tikanga Maori and Te Reo in schools and will look to build on the foundations already in place in Room 10.

Finally I love sport, having played tennis, cricket and football as a kid as well as being not to bad at long distance running. I still like to run trail runs and long distance events.

I look forward to meeting all of you and getting to know your backgrounds and interests, feel free to pop in for a chat.

nga mihi

Sean Koch.
